To be idiotic means to be crazily irresponsible, to be incongruous. Moreover, it could be defined as having a mental age of three to seven years old. There are several idiotic things that intelligent people do and some may be aware of them while some may not.

One of the idiotic things that people do is ignoring the importance of style and design. For instance, when iPOd first came out, people complain that it lacks features and the high price.  However, normal people went out in droves to buy it because it was so easy and cool to use. Many smart people also use terrible tools, very common among programmers who prided themselves in using text editors and programming languages that have not been updated since the 70s. Moreover, a lot of intelligent people appear to be followers. This is probably because they grew up spending a lot of time pleasing other people through academic and extracurricular achievements that they find it hard to figure out that they want or to try something unique.

Most smart people act like they are right above anyone else and go around letting others known they are wrong. Moreover, they also think that they could change the minds of other people through facts sand arguments. Another idiotic thing smart people do is to allow success in a single area lead to being overconfident in other areas. Most think that just because they are expert in a certain field, they are automatically experts in other areas which they know nothing about.
