Auto Fraud

Auto fraud is a serious problem in a lot of states. There are really unscrupulous dealers that deliberately sell you a vehicle they are aware has defects or sell you a wrecked car or else engage in illegal financing.

Sadly, auto fraud is plaguing the country. Innocent auto buyers are taken to the bank to fill the pockets of dishonest dealers. The tactics they use are so professional that even well-informed customers are being taken for thousands of dollars. A recent report from Dateline revealed that dealers charged with deception and fraud occurred in 39 states.

Although a lot of consumers could suspect that auto dealerships are not always operating on the up-and-up, the size of purchase, paperwork and complicated financial relationships could make them especially vulnerable to schemes created by dealers in order to squeeze maximum profit form each deal. There have been talks regarding legislative solutions or remedies that will hugely boost the accountability and transparency of auto dealerships to financial institutions and consumers. Keep in mind that before you proceed in any auto purchase, you should determine if the person or the company you are dealing with is   legitimate and examine the vehicle thoroughly or have a mechanic examine it thoroughly before you proceed.
